Stinger Electronics' mission is to become a world leader in the perimeter security market by consistently exceeding our customer's expectations and providing them with both the best and unique technology solutions for personal and asset protection. We will continually communicate with and learn from our customers in order to improve and expand our products and our services. By building our reputation through honest and reliable business practice, we envisage a direct positive financial result which will enable us to expand the company and serve our existing and new customers for many decades to come.
OUR HISTORY
Stinger Electronics CC was formed in 1987 trading as Edecon. The goal was to build a medium-sized enterprise that could cater to a large portion of the perimeter security market, but, which would still be able to provide excellent service as an electronics design, manufacturing and installation company. The idea was to construct a company that could provide a satisfying work environment while maximizing the return from innovative designs. The Company's growing was financed solely out of profits generated from contract design.
The company was based on the CSIR premises in Pretoria, South Africa, and by investing generated profits back into the business Stinger Electronics can depend on state of the art equipment to perform its day to day operations. We have since moved to a new office in Meyerspark
As income from product sales has increased, the reliance on the contract design service side has declined. This was essential to free up the company's resources for further product development and strategic duties. Stinger Electronics has taken over Beta-scan Electronics in March 2005 and has continued its operation with its staff and management. Stinger Electronics is fully a family-owned and controlled company.
Continuous product development has extended our product range and manufacturing facility requirements considerably. Our range of products is protected by patents and adheres to the most stringent international standards.
WHAT WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO ACHIEVE
The present our aim is to stabilize and accredit electric fence systems. The company's focus is based on providing reliable and effective perimeter protection and detection systems to high security areas. This mainly consists of government national key points and more specifically Eskom, the national electricity supplier, mines, state prisons, borders and government buildings. These institutions expect only the best quality and service and their requirements exceed the highest standards.
Private residential security estates also form an increasingly large part of the focus of the company. Due to unacceptable high levels of crime in South Africa, these cordoned security areas are forced to implement the highest level of security in order to fulfill one of the basic human needs….Security.
WHAT DO WE OFFER
The perimeter security market can be divided into four basic segments:
1 - The private residential market
2 - Game farms and lodges
3 - The private security estate market
4 - Government institutions, borders, national key points and industrial sector
Due to the versatile capabilities of our products, the current focus of the company is based on items 2, 3 and 4 above.
We have identified an enormous lack of proper consultation, proper specification and proper implementation of perimeter security systems in the focus market. Stinger Electronics have started exploiting these opportunities in the market with huge success and this will be expanded even further.
This is done by performing intensive research in the market area on diverse components relating to our products. The results of the research are compiled, evaluated and implemented via proper consultation to our clients.
By being able to establish and implement only quality and unique products such as the BS120 Multizone electric fence energizer, the BS102 dual zone electric fence energizer and the CDS (climb detection sensor) we can provide the ultimate solutions to our focus markets. The current products will be continuously reviewed and upgraded while the search for new and improved systems will never stop.
Crime rates tend to increase in developing countries while the general decrease in the world economies will also be a cause of increased crime rates.
Having acquired the necessary experience and references in the local market, the company seeks to expand its services to other countries, using a similar basic business model that was successfully used in the local market. We are proud to have strategic partners in Malaysia, Pakistan, Netherlands, Mauritius, India and Sri Lanka.
Developing countries which, we find in Africa, Middle East and Asia form exciting new opportunities which are being exploited. The foreign revenue generated by each of these operations will provide means to the company to expand and re-invest into more foreign countries.
The company has successfully established it's brand in South East Asia, Middle East and Europe and intends to focus on the Southern American and Northern African markets in the near future. Since these are fast developing countries, we foresee a market potential that could even be larger than the local focus market. Over 70 potential clients in our focus market have been identified. These range from end-users to resellers and installers.
